July 30 - August 14
“Pasolini: the gaze of the contemporary” is a contemporary art exhibition dedicated to one of the greatest Italian intellectuals of the last century, Pier Paolo Pasolini, on the centenary of his birth.
Writer, poet and director, Pier Paolo Pasolini, was an uncomfortable character due to his counter-current and often contradictory positions, left an important legacy to Italian culture. His work serves as a testimony of his historical time and as a prophecy of what would happen in today’s society.
The artists are confronted in this exhibition with the themes of Pasolini’s thought, expressed in the different choices of Pasolini’s artistic language, to interpret and give shape to reality.
Six Italian artists and two artists from the Netherlands, who have lived in Italy for a long time, will be the protagonists of this exhibition set up in the prestigious spaces of the Pulchri Studio in The Hague from 30 July to 14 August 2022. Each with their own style, with their own sensitivity, and through various expressive techniques typical of contemporary art, proposes their own reflection on the social, anthropological, cultural phenomena expressed in the work of Pasolini.
