Petőfi200 exhibition

Concluding the commemoration year, the Embassy of Hungary in The Hague will present the ‘Petőfi200 exhibition’ at the public library DOK in Delft between 15 November 2023 and 15 January 2024 to celebrate the 200th birth anniversary of the revolutionary Hungarian poet Sándor Petőfi (1823-1849).

In the just 26 years of his lifetime, he wrote nearly 1,000 poems and had a great impact on world literature. He was also a key figure in the revolution and freedom fight of 1848 in Hungary and the author of the poem ‘National Song’. The exhibition (in English) focuses on Petőfi’s biography, poetic quotes and the historical context of his time. The exhibition is supported by the National Cultural Fund of Hungary.
