Opera Streaming (Istituto Italiano di Cultura Amsterdam)

The Italian Institute for Culture in Amsterdam is delighted to present you Opera Streaming, a series of Italian Opera masterpieces made freely available – both in Italian and English – on the YouTube channel of the event for an international audience.

Thanks to the cooperation of the Region Emilia-Romagna with several prestigious Italian theatres – such as the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in Modena, and the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza – the reknown Italian musical tradition surpasses regional borders and brings the Opera to your house. Aimed at an international public, Opera Streaming is the first service worldwide offering a series of live Opera performances recorded to celebrate a specific territory and its cultural tradition. The main purpose of the triennial project (2019-2021) is that of promoting and celebrating through a global communication channel the region Emilia-Romagna as a land of operatic tradition and production of utmost prestige. In particular, this initiative makes an artistic experience available for a section of pubblic that does not often have the possibility of enjoying live Opera performances.

Creating an opportunity for enjoying delightful music from uncountable households around the world, during its first year Opera Streaming won the hearts of over half a million spectators from Brazil to Russia, from Tiwan to the USA, and in each European State.
