Early music concert performed by Spanish harpsichordist Diego Ares (Embassy of Spain)
1 December 2020 @ 00:00 - 31 December 2020 @ 00:00
The Musica Antica da Camera Foundation, in cooperation with the Embassy of Spain to The Hague, organizes a concert entitled “Flowers of Music” by Spanish harpsichordist Diego Ares. The program will include a selection of Spanish pieces from the 17th century for keyboard by anonymous composers.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation the performance will not be able to take place live at the Lutherse Kerk in The Hague on November 12th, as originally planned. Instead, the concert will be recorded that same day in another place, and distributed online via the Embassy’s media and the VIMEO channel of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) within the VENTANA program, a window to Spanish culture. The aim of this initiative is to promote Spanish creators, institutions, festivals and cultural industries through digital content to support their internationalization.
Diego Ares (Vigo, 1983) has studied piano and harpsichord at his hometown and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. In 2004, he entered the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he obtained a harpsichord degree with the highest qualifications. As a soloist he has performed in Spain (Festival de Úbeda, Festival de Música Antigua de Barcelona), France (Cordes sensibles Festival), Switzerland (Victoria Hall in Geneva, Saint Gallen Festival), The Netherlands (Utrecht Early Music Festival), Belgium (Wallonie Festival), Norway (Oslo Chamber Music Festival) and Japan (Tokyo Opera City Hall).
The video of the concert will be available on AECID’s VIMEO VENTANA program channel shortly. More information about the Musica Antica da Camera Foundation can be found on their website.
