Who pays the bill? Strategies for a fair environment for cultural workers in Rotterdam and Europe.

Celebrate Europe Day on May 9 with us. FAIR P(L)AY Cycle is coming to Rotterdam for its second edition, this time focused on young and emerging artists in the district’s creative scene.

FAIR P(L)AY is a cycle initiated by the EUNIC Netherlands cluster, focusing on fair practices in the cultural sector. We aim to discuss and implement new and existing ways of creating fair environments in terms of funding, remuneration, copyright and mobility in Europe.

Nieuwe Instituut will host an afternoon of talks and workshops, bringing together a selection of Rotterdam’s cultural institutes to exchange ideas around fair payment in the industry. Join MAMA, DutchCulture, and Kunstenpunt to connect with other local artists and have your perspective heard on improving your working conditions.

Doors open at 14:30. The afternoon will conclude with drinks and an evening performance from 17:30.

The sessions take place in two rounds, meaning that each person will get to join two of them in turns.
