Vrouwen en Muziek: Internationale Vrouwendag 2021

8 March 2021 @ 10:00 - 13:00

The sound of women’s talent is playing louder than ever.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2021, the Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht and EUNIC Netherlands have organized an online event to celebrate Women and Music. This year, the 8th of March will be an occasion for women in music to get the recognition they deserve.

At 10:00 various international specialists will gather in a virtual round table to discuss the role of women in the world of music, as composers, performers, and source of inspiration. Beyond their creativity, particular attention will be given to the challenges of the future in order to avoid the silence that has befallen women in the course of history.

Afterwards, at 11:00, a special virtual concert will constitute the opportunity to highlight women’s contribution to music. Numerous European artists will perform pieces of music that have been conducted, composed, sung or performed by women. Our audience is going to be blown away by a variety of different genres, cultures, and artistic backgrounds.
