Theo Loevendie ‘Metamorphoses’ – Concert (Yunus Emre Enstitüsü)

14 October 2021 @ 19:00 - 20:00

Another event in the name of music is promoted by the Yunus Emre Institute in Amsterdam.

Festive world premiere Metamorph (2020) – the latest work by composer Theo Loevendie, written for Metamorphoses and made possible by the Performing Arts Fund. Finally the time has come and Theo’s latest work can be performed in the Yunus Emre Institute in Amsterdam – a venue dear to the artist himself.

Works by Mozart and the Dutch composers Julius Röntgen and Leo Smit will be performed prior to Metamorph.

Metamorphoses is a new and innovative trio, founded in 2016 by Jean Johnson (clarinet), Roeland Jagers (viola), and Ilona Timchenko (piano). Right after its creation, the trio was invited by stages in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Spain.

Theo Loevendie will be present at the concert evening and will inform the public about his new composition. In his words The link with Turkish culture is that my composition Metamorph contains many Turkish-oriented rhythms. I am inclined to make that link clear to the public, that makes it educationally interesting, because I know a lot about the Turkish-Dutch connection”.

Due to limited available seats, the Yunus Emre Institute kindly asks you to make your presence known by email – amsterdam@yee.org.tr

As well as for all the venues in the Netherlands, in order to access the Yunus Emre Institute it will be needed a proof of fully vaccination, recent negative test, or complete cure from Corona. This proof is the Corona admission ticket for Dutch visitors and the EU Digital COVID Certificate (DCC) for European visitors. Anyone outside of Europe should be tested at Test for Access.
