Symposium: All good things must begin – roots and routes

11 March 2022 - 13 March 2022

€3 – €15

The first Salwa Gathering deals with the topics of belonging, identity and diasporic memory practices and offers space for discussions. What can we learn from sharing memories and how can we honor those who paved the way for us? What can you learn from your roots and career?
The artists who will take part in this first meeting will create works on themes such as relationships, knowledge transfer between generations, legacy and memories.
This first meeting is the prelude to a total of three Salwa Gatherings, at which discussions are to be facilitated, the focus of which is solidarity within the art and culture scene.

Confirmed artists are: Sulafa Hijazi, Thana Faroq, Emirhakin, Anto Lopez, Senakirfa Abraham, Lina Issa and Khaled Barakeh.

There will be an artist talk between Khaled Barakeh and Riad Salameh, moderated by Jamil Fiorino-Habib.
In addition, there are DJ sets from Lazer Gazer and Siga.
Food and drinks will be provided.
