A live, multimedia documentary about a small Belgian migrant community in Detroit.
With LAND, radio maker Katharina Smets, video maker Ingrid Leonard & sound artist Inne Eysermans (together: The Space Between) focus on a small Belgian migrant community in Detroit. Their ancestors left Belgium in the hope of a better life. They play curls and invented their own version of Manneken Pis and the Flemish Lion. Together with Detroit artists Marsha Music, Wayne Juuni and Desmond Love, they examine the group of compatriots in the middle of the super diverse city. How do they as migrants hold on to their roots?
Two performances on the 23rd and 24th of February at 20.00.
