Ten years after she returned to life, Piera Sonnino found the courage, the way and the strength to face the tragedy of the deportation and destruction of her entire family – her parents, three brothers and her sisters – in the Nazi concentration camps. to make a story.
The book is a thoughtful testimony to experiences in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Seventy years have passed since the camp was liberated, but the horror of what the Russians found is still very much alive.
The performance will be held in Italian, with Dutch subtitles based on the translation “Zo het was. Een Italiaanse familie in Auschwitz” by Anthonie Kee, published in 2007 by Athenaeum – Polak & Van Gennep publishers.
