De Roovers & Magne van den Berg (De Brakke Grond)
June 15 @ 20:00 - June 16 @ 22:00€12 – €17
After having to move it from January 25 and 26 to June 15 and 16, De Brakke Grond is thrilled to finally be able to present to its public a performance about how the lives of four friends are disrupted after one of them makes a seemingly innocent statement.
The many conversations in The Long Aftermath of a Brief Communication show in a tragicomic way how everyone tries to master their own fears and desires in a different way. The more everyone tries their best to get a grip on the situation, the more it gets out of hand. Much is said in few words, much more is the untold, much is understood and much is misunderstood. Magne van den Berg’s text is painfully light-footed and can be read as a poem in which the images arise in the mind of the viewer.
The Antwerp-based group De Roovers explicitly choose to present a short performance with a limited crew and decor in this special time. It is “corona proof” per sé, without sacrificing theatrical and artistic quality.
The audience will be able to attend the theatre performance on two evenings, upon reservation through the ticket purchase section on De Brakke Grond’s website.
