On the wave of the exciting literary events that EUNIC Netherlands is organizing for the upcoming weeks together with its member Institutes and Embassies, the Litouws Cultureel Centrum has prepared for you an unconventional screening.
The LCC is glad to invite you to the free online streaming of ‘Crucifixion’, a short film and literary adaptation of Danielius Minkevičius based on the homonymous novel by Ričardas Gavelis, published in 1995 in his Vilnius Short Stories.
In his film, Danielius Minkevičius takes us along a secretive man’s inner thoughts confronting reality. Yet, it all depends on the point of view: the trick – repeatedly used by one of the most prominent and daring Lithuanian writers of his generation, Ricardas Gavelis.
The young film director Danielius Minkevičius (1993) graduated from Vilnius Academy of Music and Theatre in 2020; there, he made his first live action and documentary short films. Minkevičius is now working on his debut feature film.
The CRUCIFIXION will be available on the webpage of the Litouws Cultureel Centrum on Saturday and Sunday, June 12 -13, 2021. It will be displayed in its original language, Lithuanian, with subtitles in English.
