EUNIC Netherlands has teamed up with the European Commission Representation in the Netherlands (Europa in Nederland) and OBA Amsterdam to deliver a Series of Lectures on Multilingualism. Our first lecture will be held January 12 between 19:30 and 21:00 and will deal with the topic “Raising a bilingual child with success”.

If you’re raising a bilingual child, you no doubt get to hear advice from many different people and places, from friends and neighbours to the consultatiebureau and teachers. Which advice should you follow and which can you better ignore?

Dr. Sharon Unsworth will give you tips and tricks based on the latest research findings to help your child become a successful bilingual. We talk about what success means, what makes bilingualism so special, and why at the same time it’s also completely normal. Sharon is language scientist at Radboud University in Nijmegen, mother of two bilingual children, and host of Kletsheads, the podcast about bilingual children for parents, teachers and speech language therapists.

Did you miss the lecture? Watch it now by visiting OBA Amsterdam’s YouTube page or click to play.
